Working for Health for ALL: health justice activities at the USSF

Authored by PHM USA on 28 Jun 2007

The People's Health Movement (PHM) is a global coalition of grassroots organizations working for the right to health and challenging the prevailing system of health care delivery that is failing to serve most of the poor worldwide. The People's Health Movement - USA Circle (www.phm-usa.org) is organizing various outreach activities as a way to build awareness of and support for the Right to Health in our country. As the US chapter of a global organization we also must take advantage of our location in the United States to carry out activities focused on support for the international movement. Below are listed workshops that we recommend you partake in, marches that we suggest you add your energy to, and places we all should definitely visit during the US Social Forum.

The International People's Health University (IPHU) was created by the People's Health Movement to offer short courses (four days to one week) and other educational resources on issues of health and equality. Participants in IPHU courses examine the connections between politics, economics, and health, to develop a broader understanding of the current barriers to equal healthcare access and the challenge of achieving health for all.
