Call for international action to protect the lives of indigenous people in the south of Colombia

With feelings of pain, indignation and sadness, the organisations and individuals who make part of the International People's Health Movement in Latin America and the World are making an urgent call for the mobilization of support for the lives and integrity of the original ommunities and people from the south of Colombia in the Cauca Valley by denouncing, before the international community, the criminal acts committed by the Government of President Álvaro Uribe.

Iraqi hospitals overwhelmed by number of casualties following intense fighting

Five days of intense fighting between the Mehdi army militia and the Iraqi military has left hospitals in Iraq overwhelmed with the number of casualties. Doctors for Iraq's network of doctors across the country report that hospitals are lacking many medical supplies such as IV fluid, antibiotics and specialist doctors to treat the injured.

Ramallah, 27-03-07: Six Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip today, drowned in a flood of sewage that swept over the village of Um Al Nasser in the Northern Gaza Strip as the banks of a nearby waste water treatment pool burst. Two elderly women, two children and a teenage girl were amongst the dead.
