Human Rights Watch: Don't Fire on Gaza Medics

Israeli security forces launched attacks that harmed Palestinian medical emergency personnel and damaged ambulances on at least six different occasions in the Gaza Strip between May 30 and July 20, Human Rights Watch said today. Human Rights Watch called on the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to ensure that its troops scrupulously respect the protected status of medical emergency personnel and facilities at all times as it conducts military operations in the Gaza Strip.

Urgent Appeal from the Health Workers in Palestine

We, the Palestinian health providers in the non governmental sector express our deep concern and rage at the rapid deterioration of health conditions, as an outcome of the imposed political and economical sanctions against the fairly elected Palestinian government as many of the international donors decided to stop their financial aid to the PNA. This coincided with Israeli escalations practiced against Palestinian civilians by the non stop intensive artillery shelling, assassinations, massive detentions and strict losures.
