The People’s Health Movement strongly condemns the Israeli government’s violent and premeditated attack on the civilian flotilla’s carrying peaceful activists and humanitarian aid to Gaza on 31st May 2010.

Aziz Rhali, a pharmacist and Dr. Rashid El-Katibi are part of a 10 member medical delegation from the People's Health Movement in Morocco. They spent the last

two weeks in Gaza's war torn areas. Working closely with the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (an active member of the Global People's Health Movement), they treated the war wounded and helped to train the medical staff.

Two Surgeons from the UK, Dr Ghassan Abu Sittah and Dr Swee Ang, managed to get into Gaza during the Israeli invasion. Here they describe their experiences, share their views, and conclude that the people of Gaza are extremely vulnerable and defenseless in the event of another attack.

As workers, students and activists in the health sector we condemn the gross and inhumane Israeli massacre of Palestinians in Gaza. We call for an immediate end to the ground invasion, the bombings and the 18 month siege on Gaza that has created a dire health and humanitarian crisis in Palestine.

Since the beginning of the Israeli vicious attack and non-stop bombardment of Gaza, the violations of the right of the Palestinian people to life and health has simultaneously risen.

No Palestinians have been immune to this violent attack, including children, women and elderly people.

Health sector on the brink of collapse

Ramallah, 07/01/09: The Israeli military operation in Gaza has entered its twelfth day. Attacks from the air, the sea and the land continuously claim more and more Palestinian lives, including many innocent civilians among which women and children.
