The People’s Health Movement condemns the Israeli military operations in Gaza

 

The People’s Health Movement (PHM) strongly condemns the latest Israeli military operation in the besieged Gaza Strip. At the time of issuing the statement, a total of 25 people have been killed and more than 250 injured. Six of those killed are children.  PHM calls on civil society organizations and citizens to put pressure on their governments to condemn the aggression on the people of Gaza and to allocate aid assistance and disaster relief to the Strip's 1.6 million people.

The brutal massacre of at least 34 Lonmim Mine workers, who were mowed down by automatic rifle fire from the South African police at Marikana in the North West province, has sent shock waves throughout South Africa and the world. Aziz Rhali, a pharmacist and Dr. Rashid El-Katibi are part of a 10 member medical delegation from the People's Health Movement in Morocco. They spent the last

two weeks in Gaza's war torn areas. Working closely with the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (an active member of the Global People's Health Movement), they treated the war wounded and helped to train the medical staff.
